Green Roots, Divine Mission: An Exclusive Conversation with Rajan Richi Kalia, Founder of Heaven Herbs

Nestled amidst the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh, near the sacred Chintpurni Dham, a unique brand is quietly revolutionizing the wellness and sustainable living space. Heaven Herbs, founded by the passionate and purpose-driven Rajan Richi Kalia, is not just a company — it’s a movement that blends nature, spirituality, and social good into a single powerful vision.

We sat down with Mr. Kalia to explore his journey, the heart behind Heaven Herbs, and the impact it’s creating across India.

Q: Rajan ji, can you tell us about your background and how Heaven Herbs came into being?

Absolutely. I was born and raised near Chintpurni Dham in Himachal Pradesh, which has always been a place of spiritual strength for me. I did my graduation from Govt College Dhaliara in District Kangra and later completed my MBA in Human Resources from Punjab University.

The idea for Heaven Herbs came from a deep desire to bring people closer to nature — not just through consumption, but through conscious living. We wanted to create products that were rooted in ancient wisdom, chemical-free, and beneficial for both the body and the soul. That’s how Heaven Herbs was born.

Q: What kind of products does Heaven Herbs offer?

Our flagship products include organic green tea, alcohol-free fragrances, pure chandan (sandalwood) incense sticks, and Himachali guggal dhoop. We also make eco-friendly personal care items like neem wood combs and toothbrushes.

These products are crafted using traditional methods, local herbs, and without any harmful chemicals. Our sandalwood incense is made from real sandalwood powder, not synthetic perfume. Our green tea is handpicked from high-altitude farms, ensuring the best quality and purity.

Q: Your products are available at airports in Pune and Gujarat. That’s impressive! How did that expansion happen?

Thank you. Getting our products into airport stores was a significant milestone. We wanted to reach a clientele that appreciates authenticity, wellness, and premium quality — and airports are great for that. The visibility has helped us connect with people across India who value purity and sustainability.

It also puts Himachal Pradesh’s natural treasures on a national platform, which fills me with pride. Our aim is to soon expand to other metropolitan airports as well.

Q: Your neem wood products — especially the combs and toothbrushes — have done really well. Can you tell us about that?

Absolutely. In 2024, we sold neem wood combs and toothbrushes worth ₹50 lakh. These products are completely biodegradable and help replace plastic in daily routines. People often don’t realize how many chemicals are in plastic combs and brushes — neem, on the other hand, has natural antibacterial properties and has been used in Indian tradition for centuries.

This success has shown us that when given the right option, people are more than willing to choose eco-friendly alternatives.

Q: You are also the President of a social club called God’s Army. What is its role in your overall mission?

God’s Army is very close to my heart. It’s a social club with over 700 active members. We believe in living a life of service. Through this club, we organize tree-planting drives, support poor students with educational aid, and run community wellness programs.

What’s special is that we’ve committed 25% of Heaven Herbs’ profits toward social causes through God’s Army. That’s not just a promise — it’s something we’ve embedded into the DNA of our business.

Q: That’s an inspiring integration of business and service. What motivates you to give back this way?

I believe business should be a force for good. Nature gives us everything freely — herbs, air, water, soil — and it’s our duty to give back to the community and environment. My spiritual roots at Chintpurni Dham taught me that true success comes not from accumulation, but from contribution.

When we educate one child or plant one tree, the ripple effects last for generations. That’s what motivates me every day.

Q: What kind of impact have your social initiatives created so far?

We’ve helped over 150 underprivileged students with school fees, uniforms, and learning resources in the last year alone. We’ve also planted over 3,000 trees across Himachal, focusing on native species that support biodiversity. Many of these are fruit-bearing trees that will also help local communities in the long term.

Our campaigns are entirely volunteer-driven, and many of our customers have become part of the God’s Army movement too. It’s beautiful to see that kind of unity for a shared cause.

Q: How do you ensure authenticity and quality in your products?

All our products are handmade or small-batch manufactured to maintain the highest level of purity. We don’t use synthetic additives, artificial colors, or preservatives. We work directly with local farmers and herbalists who have years of experience with Ayurvedic herbs and methods.

Every incense stick, every drop of fragrance, every brush or comb — it’s all made with love, care, and consciousness. Our alcohol-free fragrances, for instance, are made with essential oils and hydrosols derived through steam distillation, not chemicals.

Q: What are your future plans for Heaven Herbs?

We’re currently working on launching an exclusive online store that will help us serve customers across India and even overseas. We also plan to introduce herbal skincare and wellness kits in the coming year.

Another big goal is to expand our plantation drives — we want to plant at least 10,000 trees by the end of 2025 and reach 1,000 student beneficiaries through education support. Our Meditate with Nature campaign, combining incense rituals and breathing techniques, is also in development to promote holistic wellness.

Q: What message do you have for today’s youth and aspiring entrepreneurs?

Don’t just chase profit — build something with purpose. If you connect your business to a cause larger than yourself, it will never feel like a burden. Your energy will be endless, and people will support you.

Also, stay close to nature. The more disconnected we are from the earth, the more anxious and unhealthy we become. My advice: ground yourself in the soil of your values and let your business bloom like a tree.

Conclusion

Rajan Richi Kalia’s Heaven Herbs is more than just a wellness brand — it’s a lifestyle of sustainability, compassion, and conscious entrepreneurship. In a world driven by quick profits and mass production, Heaven Herbs stands as a glowing example of what can be achieved when one blends tradition with innovation and commerce with compassion.

From the sacred hills of Chintpurni to the high-traffic terminals of India’s busiest airports, Rajan’s journey reminds us all that real change begins with rooted purpose and a heart that serves.
